🌿 Prathyusha P.U. College Celebrates Environment Day with Green Initiatives
Mangaluru, June 5 — Prathyusha P.U. College marked World Environment Day with a vibrant campus-wide celebration aimed at promoting sustainability and ecological awareness among students.
The event began with a tree-planting drive led by the Principal and faculty members, where students enthusiastically planted saplings across the college grounds. The theme for this year’s celebration was “Our Earth, Our Responsibility”, emphasizing the role of youth in protecting natural resources.
A special seminar was organized featuring guest speakers from local environmental organizations who spoke on topics such as climate change, plastic pollution, and green entrepreneurship. Students also showcased eco-themed posters, models, and presentations as part of an inter-class competition.
The highlight of the day was a pledge ceremony where students committed to reducing single-use plastics, conserving water, and adopting eco-friendly habits in their daily lives.
Principal addressed the gathering, stating, “Environmental stewardship begins with awareness and action. We are proud to see our students take ownership of this cause with such passion and creativity.”
The program concluded with the distribution of herbal plants to all participants and a group photo to commemorate the occasion.
